NetWalk Internet Solutions Debuts Free Emergency Medical Records Database
Berlin-based netWalk Internet Solutions this month debuts a free online Emergency Pass service for international travelers and citizens from all countries.

Individuals enter their vital health information online into a medical database that can be accessed by physicians or hospital staff in the event of an accident anywhere in the world. Individuals can record medications they may be taking, note allergies to any drugs, mention chronic illnesses as well as list family and medical contacts.

To accomplish the vast project netWalk developed a proprietary database technology. Each registered individual receives a personal access code. Individuals may change, update, expand or delete their personal files at any time. Any personal information remains strictly secure and confidential.

Once the individual has obtained a code for their records they need to have a method of identification for the physician or hospital. Patients typically wear a bracelet engraved with the website address and their patient access code. The attending doctor would then use this data to and look up the patient's records on the Internet while taking appropriate medical measures to ensure the patient's safety during the process.

The online Emergency Pass is the brainchild of Detlef von Hellfeld, 51, an Internet pioneer who travels extensively and noticed there was nothing like the service in his home country. "I've traveled a lot in my life and know how uncomfortable one can be if they are ill in a foreign country. I felt the Emergency Pass service would be a practical use of technology that could put travelers at ease."

Looking beyond the project as a convenience for travelers, Von Hellfeld believes individuals will soon be archiving their full medical histories online including X-rays, blood analysis, and eventually video at his site.

In addition to the Emergency Pass service netWalk Internet Solutions is in the process of building out a Medical Portal located at

netWalk Internet Solutions (netwalk.de) has offices in Berlin and Madrid. The company operates several online properties including a database with 8000 IT-Experts from90 countries http://trust7.com/
