Medical Interns slug it out online for the intellectual mantle of Top Gladiator

International Medical Publishing, a McLean, Va.-based company that promotes positive health and vitality through the publication of innovative books and calendars for medical consumers and health professionals, today announced the debut of InternGladiators.com. InternGladiators is an online live intellectual competition between medical interns from hospitals across the United States. Six teams meet on any given Thursday night.

Anthony Salvi, Vice President for Information Technology, notes that “InternGladiators is definitely a quirky product. We have a core group at this company that loves physicians-in-training and they developed ‘InternGladiators’ as a showplace for young doctors to demonstrate their intellectual acumen on a national platform.”

Interns are first year medical residents. They have completed four years of college and four years of medical school and have earned an M.D. or D.O. degree. After medical school, young physicians enter a residency to begin specialized training and to qualify for state medical licenses. 18,000 young people enter residency every year.

InternGladiators has scheduled its first match for August 23rd. Six teams play a live match answering medical trivia questions beginning at 8:00PM (EST) and lasting for approximately one hour.
