National Sorbents, Inc. Projects $10 Million In Revenue In 2001

National Sorbents, Inc. Projects $10 Million In Revenue In 2001
Company Diversifies Into International Markets Sorbents, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: NSIE), a Cincinnati, Ohio-based producer and marketer of environmental sorbent products, today announced that projected revenues for Fiscal Year 2001 could reach $10 million. According to Dan Jones, CEO of NSIE, "Opportunities for dramatically increasing our company revenues are based on established revenues from 2000 and projected revenues from new contracts both in the U.S., Asia and Latin America."

Among the contract agreements and projected revenue cited by NSIE's Jones are the following:

A major contract with a large upper Midwest chemical manufacturer; A contract to provide sorbents to a national waste disposal firm based in the Midwest; A new NSIE distribution center now operating in Elizabeth, New Jersey; A new partnership with a West Coast marketing distributor for NSIE products; NSIE's patented filter pouch being marketed to the U.S. and international oil industry; Sorbent contracts with companies in Japan, Thailand and Brazil; Use of Dry N' Lock mortuary sorbent products for mortuaries, tissue banks and hospitals are rapidly increasing; Sales of sorbent products to Enviropro of Pikesville, Kentucky for the clean up of coal sludge in eastern Kentucky.

Jones also stated that NSI recently presented one of its sorbent products to the State of Missouri. "The Missouri environmental department contacted us about our sorbent products for use in the environmental battle against pollution from animal waste," said Jones. "Our company has a product called MAXX Ultra that absorbs and solidifies more than 40 times its weight in fluids and come pre-packaged in a variety of forms; socks, pillows, pads and granulated powder. Ultra, originally developed to contain and clean up industrial spills, continues to be widely used for that purpose. The material acts as a solidifying agent, dramatically reducing the volume of waste and preventing it from seeping into soil. Potentially hazardous substances contained in the animal wastes, such as ammonia, are neutralized and the foul odor is virtually eliminated. The resulting material won't break down after it has absorbed the animal urine and fecal matter." Another reason for Jones' optimism this year? Continuing revenue from a multi-million dollar contract with a large national retail chain to provide environmentally compliant spill kits and removal services to all their outlets nationwide.
